Tools I Use as a Marketer

I’m a marketer, and for me, the most important thing is to make sure that I can do my job as effectively as possible.

Having a marketing toolkit is an essential part of being a marketer.

As you can imagine, I’m constantly on the lookout for new tools that make my life easier or help me do what I do better.

I thought it would be interesting to share some of the tools that I use as a marketer and why I think they’re useful. Hopefully, you will find something useful here.

In this post, I want to talk about some of the tools that I use as a marketer and how they’ve helped me in my work. These are all free or low-cost tools that have made my life easier and helped me grow my company’s revenue faster.

1. Notion

I’ve been using Notion for a few months now, it’s my favorite tool by far. It’s basically a spreadsheet, but it has so many features that make it really useful for marketers.

I used to keep notes in Evernote or Google Keep, but now everything goes into Notion. The app lets users create documents with different sections and subsections, so it’s easy to organize your work into separate projects and tasks. Nowadays mostly I use Notion to plan out my blog posts and organize my ideas.

2. Semrush

SEMrush is an amazing tool that has helped me research niches, keywords, and competitors like no other tool I’ve ever tried before. It’s not cheap but it’s worth every penny!

I use this tool every day to check out keywords that competitors are bidding on in AdWords (Google AdWords). I also use it to see what keywords our clients should be bidding on if they’re not already doing so through SEMrush Pro. It gives me great insight into what competitors are doing and how we can outsmart them by using their own strategies against them!

3. Grammarly

Grammarly is one of those tools that I had heard about but never really understood how useful it was until I actually started using it myself. Grammarly helps me with spelling mistakes and grammar errors while writing content for blogs or promoting businesses on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. If there’s anything wrong with your writing before you hit the publish button then Grammarly will let you know right away so that there’s no chance of embarrassing mistakes being made by your readers

It’s saved me from embarrassing mistakes many times over!

4. Google Drive

This is my go-to place for document sharing with clients and coworkers. It’s simple to use and has everything you need in one place. You can also share files with anyone who has a Google account, which is pretty much everyone these days.

It also has an excellent search function that makes it easy to find files that you’ve shared with others but can’t remember where they are located.

5. Hotjar

Hotjar is one of the most powerful analytics tools on the market, and it has helped me understand what my customers want more than anything else.

In fact, this is my favorite tool for heat mapping and user research on websites. I use it to see how users navigate around my pages and interact with elements on them (i.e., buttons). I also use it to see what they click on when they land on one of our landing pages.

Hotjar allows you to add heatmaps to your page so you can see where users are clicking or tapping (mobile) and where there are drop-off points in your conversion funnel. It’s also great for collecting feedback from users through live chat or surveys after they have been through an experience with your website or app.

6. Typeform

I use Typeform to create surveys, quizzes, contests, and lead generation forms, and it has been a lifesaver. The platform is really easy to use, and you can create beautiful forms that are easy to build on mobile devices.

It is one of the most beautiful online survey tools out there. It’s also easy to use and has great analytics.

7. Zoom

Zoom has become my go-to video conferencing tool for interviews or meetings with colleagues, clients, or partners. It’s easy to use, has good screen sharing capabilities, and gives you screen recording capabilities if needed (which is great for training purposes). There’s also no need to install any software on your computer — just create an account, add people from your contact list or invite them via the email address or phone number (no need to exchange passwords).

8. Fiverr

I use Fiverr for all kinds of things. If you need something done cheap and fast, this is the place to go. Fiverr is an online marketplace where you can hire people from around the world to help you with almost any task you need to be completed. There are thousands of people who offer services on Fiverr, so no matter what you need to be done — from getting your website ranked on Google to create a video ad for Facebook — there’s someone on Fiverr who can help!

You can get your entire marketing campaign done by sourcing work from freelancers on Fiverr at a fraction of the cost of hiring someone full-time.

9. Rank Math SEO plugin for WordPress

This plugin makes it easy for me to optimize my website for search engines like Google and Bing. It provides everything from keyword suggestions to title tag suggestions, so I never have to guess what keywords my customers might be searching for when they come across my site! I use it on all of my blogs including this one!

The tool also provides you with useful data such as keywords density and page loading speed so that you can improve your blog.

10. Google Analytics

As a marketer, this is my bread and butter. It’s free, so there’s no reason not to use it!

It gives me insights into how people are finding my website and what pages they’re spending time on. It also lets me see where my visitors are coming from and what devices they’re using to access the site. This information helps me make decisions about where I spend my time creating content and how much time I spend promoting it on social media channels — all based on real data rather than intuition or guesswork.

11. Hootsuite

Hootsuite is my go-to social media management tool. It lets me schedule posts across all my social channels, and it makes it super easy to track engagement on each post. This is an essential tool for every marketer.

12. Adobe Illustrator

Adobe Illustrator is the tool I use to make all my graphics for social media posts, newsletters, blog posts, and other visual elements for websites and marketing campaigns. It has tons of features and makes it super easy to create even complex graphics quickly and easily!

The only problem is that it can take forever if you don’t know what you’re doing! Thankfully, Adobe Illustrator has tons of great tutorials on YouTube so I can learn how to create beautiful graphics without having to hire someone else or go back to college for graphic design classes!

13. Google Docs

This is probably one of my favorite tools because it does so much more than just spreadsheets: it’s also great for creating presentations and documents. And because everything is stored in the cloud, you can access them from any device and at any time without having to worry about losing data or worrying about syncing issues between devices.

I use Google Docs for writing blog posts, creating emails and spreadsheets. It’s easy to use and it’s free!

One thing that makes Google Docs stand out from other online office suites is its integration with Gmail. You can create emails directly from within Google Docs, attach documents to those emails, or even send entire folders of documents as attachments (without having to upload them somewhere first).

14. MS Excel

This is an obvious one! I use Excel for data analysis and manipulating data into visualizations for my own reporting needs as well as for client work.

My favorite thing about Excel is how customizable it is; you can create custom functions or macros that save you tons of time when performing repetitive tasks or analyzing large datasets.

15. Inshot

I’m a big fan of Inshot, a quick and easy way to make videos with your phone. There are plenty of other apps out there that do similar things, but this one has been my go-to for several years now. It’s easy to use, has great templates and themes, and allows you to collaborate with others on projects.

Final Words

I have to admit, that all the tools mentioned above, from semrush to Inshot, are pretty useful and powerful. I use them on a daily basis. However, at the end of the day, I don’t think any particular tool is better than any other as long as you use it right. The best tool that a marketer can find is the human brain because it can adapt to new things easily, whereas computers are hardcoded to do certain things only.

I hope that this list helps you in your business adventures. It’s a good starting point, but don’t be afraid to experiment and find what works best for you. Good luck!
